My name is Lyann Farrelly, I am a Leadership Coach, founder of Thursday’s Child Coaching and of course a Thursday’s Child!
The poem was referenced frequently by my family, with every career move ‘You’re a Thursday’s Child. We knew you would go far!’ It came to mean ambition, drive and a determination to succeed and for me a core belief that that every individual, team and business can go far on their Leadership Journey.
My own leadership journey has been plagued by myths and limiting beliefs. I, like many of my clients, believed that the skills and capability of being a leader came with success, tenure and the corresponding job title. Imagine my surprise that with every promotion, larger scope and more people to lead it became more and more difficult. I still had far to go…and still do but there are a few things experience has taught me and science supports:
Being a leader doesn’t come with the job title!

Being a leader doesn’t come as easily to some as it does for others!
Being a leader is a journey, and we all have far to go…
